How Our Panel Calculator Works

Our Panel Calculator tool is available to our Trade customers and is designed to give a helpful early indication of panel quantities and pricing. While it isn’t a final quote, it offers a reliable starting point as you explore your options.

Simply input the required fields and the Panel Calculator will do the rest, providing initial estimates for our standard product range. For any customised requirements - including colour palette, material, embroidery, or design alterations - get in touch and our team would be happy to prepare an estimate for you.

Tailored Panel Quantities

Tailored panel quantities are calculated using a preset standard design height. If your wall height exceeds this, the estimated quantity is shown as a prorated value.

This means that taller wall heights result in a higher panel quantity, reflecting the additional material and painting time required.

For Tailored estimates, you’ll be asked to enter the number of windows and doors in the room.

  • A single door or window = 1
  • A double door or wide opening = 2

The estimator will then deduct 0.5 panels per window or door from your estimate.

The panel calculator can be used for wall heights of up to 5 metres. For wall heights above 5 metres, the tool will prompt you to get in touch so we can provide a tailored estimate and ensure everything is accurately considered.

Standard Run Panel Quantities

Standard Run estimates do not take higher wall heights into account. The estimator will simply take into account the panel width and the perimeter.

If your wall height is over 3 metres, a tailored solution may be the best fit, or you can explore our Standard Run layouts to see what works for your space.

Many of our Standard Runs are available in more than one height. These options are shown in the downloadable PDF layouts within the product specification area of each product page.

Pricing for Standard Run layouts is fixed and does not vary based on wall height.

If you’d like to select specific panels from within a Standard Run layout at the point of ordering, our team will be happy to accommodate this.

Indicative Estimates and Pricing

Estimates shown by the Panel Calculator are indicative only. For tailored orders, the final quoted price may increase or decrease once we’ve reviewed your full elevations and layout. Typical tailoring fees are usually in the region of 20–30%, however these can vary depending on the complexity of the space, wall heights, openings, and overall layout.

  • Standard Runs are always produced in full panels.
  • Tailored orders may be quoted using partial panels once we review your project and prepare a formal estimate or quote.

Final and accurate panel quantities will be confirmed once we’ve reviewed your full dimensions as part of the quoting process. Further detail on how service levels are handled can be found on our Fromental Service Levels page.

    Allowing for Tolerance

Within the Panel Calculator, you’ll have the option to apply a 5% tolerance to your measurements.

We recommend using this option, as a degree of tolerance is always required when working with real-world dimensions.

This ensures your estimate accounts for site conditions and measurement variation. For guidance on measuring walls accurately, you can refer to our How to measure my walls guide.

    Embroidery Options

If you wish to add or adjust embroidery, this can be done as part of a tailored order. Within this, the style, density or composition of the embroidery can be specified or adjusted.

Embroidery costs are added at the quoting stage and take into account:

    • budget
    • amount of embroidery
    • style of embroidery
    • placement

    Minimum order values

For tailored orders, minimum order values may apply to quotes that fall below our production thresholds. In these cases, a minimum order surcharge will be applied at the quoting stage.

Please note that any minimum order surcharges are not shown within the Panel Calculator and will only be confirmed as part of your formal quote.

Early guidance, not a final quote

The Panel Calculator is intended as a guide to help you plan and compare options at the very initial stages of a project. Final quotations may vary due to service fees, minimum order values, or changes to materials and techniques, and are confirmed once your final dimensions have been reviewed. Prices displayed on our website are subject to change and may only be indicative. Formal quoting will vary from the estimated output.

For tailored solutions, customised designs, higher wall heights, or complex spaces, our team will always review the details to ensure everything is accurate and considered. If you’d like more information on how we work, our Fromental Service Levels page provides a clear overview.
