Lush and timeless, Chelsea Green immerses the design in a rich, verdant silk backdrop, echoing the serenity of Katharine Pooley’s favourite London sanctuary, Chelsea Physic Garden. Flowers are rendered in muted tones, allowing delicate butterflies, mice, and hedgehogs to add vibrant, unexpected moments of colour.
A collaboration with Katherine Pooley, each piece sold supports Butterfly Conservation in safeguarding endangered British butterflies and their habitats.
A contemporary interpretation of the traditional Chinoiserie style, An English Butterfly Garden takes inspiration from Katharine Pooley's flower-filled garden in the heart of Oxfordshire.
Hand-painted in an unconscious chinoiserie style and embroidered by our artists on a silk ground, the design features many of Katharine’s favourite flora and fauna, including honeysuckle, camellias, duchess peonies, jasmine and forget me nots. A nibbling dormouse peeks through the leafy grove and a kaleidoscope of butterflies flutter above.
The charming design will add a romantic flourish to any interior space. It is available in three colourways; Primrose Yellow, Light Fawn and Chelsea Green
With every piece sold, a donation will be made to support Butterfly Conservation, a wonderful charity, whose work protects and conserves endangered British butterflies and their habitats.
