Mishima

Aso

Aso is a celebration of ‘tone on tone’ and is painted onto faille – a silk-linen mix whose dry texture provides a contemporary backdrop to the classically Japanese details.

Inspired by Japanese kimono patterns, playful sparrows dip and dive through wispy clouds, their raised gesso forms catching the light with subtle movement.

  • Inspired by Japanese kimono patterns, these playful sparrows painted in our raised gesso dip and dive between wispy clouds. The beauty of this design is its minimalism; the relief paint effect catches the light, adding movement and depth to an otherwise simple graphic.

As with stunning patterns within Omeshi silks, this charming design is a clever balance of wonderfully textural with a contemporary pictorial element.
