Contrasting tones in the foliage give a strong sense of foreground and background, which provides the composition with a lovely feeling of depth. Specially created to have no ground, the scene creates a less literal landscape with more graphic lines. And of course the absence of base makes it perfect for rooms featuring a dado rail or a half-height panelling.
