Iridescent gold highlights are an intriguing counterpoint to Chemise’s core palette of chalky blues and earthy greens.
Inspired by the artistry of traditional bookbinding, this waxed and gilded collage of torn paper captures the rich texture of burnished leather.
Rexine grew out of our love for the tooled leather bookbinding of Ivor Robinson. Our ‘Cartonnage’ paper was designed to mimic the texture of a burnished leather book cover. Multiple shades of this material are skilfully torn and then collaged together, before being waxed and hand-finished. The bold composition and fine gilded detailing are balanced by the soft organic sheen of the waxed paper ground.
